What causes them and how to deal with them.
What are mood swings?
Mood swings are defined as the state of having fluctuating emotions. They are usually uncontrollable and can be a sign of an underlying problem. Mood swings can be symptoms of other conditions, or they can be symptoms of your lifestyle. If you are constantly stressed or under emotional distress, you are more likely to suffer from mood swings. Anyone and everyone can and has had mood swings at some point in their life. Having mood swings isn't a bad thing, you just have to know how to work with them,
What causes them?
Mood swings are often caused by things that occur in daily life. For example, mood swings could be a sign that you are going through hormonal changes. For example, toddlers and teens are often victims of 'mood swings' because they are going through a developmental stage in life. Mood swings could also be a sign of an underlying illness. For example, sleep disorders, thyroid disorders, and diabetes often accompany mood swings. If you feel as if your mood swings may be a sign of something deeper, consult a trusted doctor.
How can we deal with them?
The best way to deal with your own mood swings is to practice good habits. Keep yourself busy by working out or playing a sport, eat healthily, and relax. If someone you know and love is suffering from mood swings, it can be difficult to console them. The first thing you need to do is identify what's wrong and talk it out with them. Getting their mind off of what's wrong is the best way to alleviate the situation.
