Exploring Diets: Vegetarian

The main component of the vegetarian diet is that you do not eat meat of any kind. People may choose this diet because of their moral opinions on animals, religious beliefs, health reasons, or to simply try something new. Just like with any lifestyle change, there are pros and cons to this diet.

Helps fight against animal cruelty- Becoming a vegetarian can help to save so many lives of livestock who wouldn’t have gotten to live a very long life. If this is an important cause to you, then this diet may be the perfect fit for you.

Health benefits- Switching to a vegetarian diet can help improve your health by giving you all the components of a healthy diet. Even without protein from meat, you can find other sources of protein through foods like dairy, nuts, eggs, and more.

Meat Helps Your Body Work- Although meat is not essential to a diet, it does provide your body with a healthy source of saturated fat. It also contains vitamins and cholesterol that can improve your immune and nervous systems. Another benefit of meat is that it helps your cells to function and do their jobs.

Nutrition deficiencies- While it is possible to gain all the correct nutrition elements with a vegetarian diet, it can be more difficult. Many people struggle to get enough iron and protein, which leaves them to be exhausted and not getting a substantial amount of energy.

Meat Substitutes:
