Exercise

Especially in quarantine, it is important to remember to stay active. When we were allowed to be in contact with others and hang out with friends, we walked around on a daily basis and physically exercised. Now, being at home, we don’t get the luxury of exercise on a daily basis, so it is important to remember to prioritize your health. Exercise will not only release endorphins but it will also make you a fitter and happier person in general.

BENEFITS

  1. Enhanced mood: exercise has been proven to release endorphins which help boost your mood and studies have shown that it can help alleviate moderate to long-term depression.

  2. Reduced Stress: exercise can help increase relaxation and can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety.

  3. Improved health – decreases blood pressure and heart rate, controls weight, strengthens muscles and enhances immunity

  4. Better, more restful sleep and a boost in energy.

Develop an exercise routine and schedule that’s realistic for you. If you don’t have morning classes, that might be a good time to fit in regular exercise. If you have a regular lunch hour, try walking or hitting the gym during that break. When in online school, you can workout during a school break, or even go on a walk (with a mask on). Remember to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines and remember to weak and mask and social distance.
